Aufzug auf Totale seems to mean a camera shot where the camera is gradually pulled back and above the subject, thus incorporating the larger scenery. To pan is to rotate the camera about its vertical axis. On second thought, you don't need to pan to make a long shot. You simply have to 'switch to long shot'.
