I hid my first suggestion because I found the correct answer to your "amerikanische Einstellung" here (although my initial guess was not too bad):

Die Figuren werden vom Kopf bis kurz über dem Knie gezeigt. Diese Einstellungsgröße wurde oft im Western verwendet, wo sie eingesetzt wurde, um die Cowboys mitsamt ihrer Waffe zu zeigen. Die unmittelbare Umgebung ist im Hintergrund erkennbar.
