German to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Cinema, Film, TV, Drama / Theatre | | German term or phrase: Theatertand | In an article on early forms of theatre. It may be obvious to other people, but I have a block in my imagination here, so any help would be appreciated.
'Wenn die angesprochene dramaturgische Technik, dass sich Heroen vor allem im Kontrast mit Intriganten legitimieren, in den Spieltexten deutlich zu erkennen ist, so scheint es fraglich, ob sich dieser Effekt auch auf der Inszenierungsebene vermittelt hat. Dass ausgerechnet Schauspieler die Helden geben, dass die von ihnen getragenen Kostüme und die mit billigen Materialien imitierten Insignien der Macht als 'Theatertand' erkennbar blieben, mag die zeitgenössische Wahrnehmung demgegenüber stärker beeinflusst haben.' |
