German to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
German term or phrase: Blende
"Halten uns selbst die Blenden, knien den ganzen Tag im See...." Context is a description of a (difficult) film shoot, working w/limited resources. I know "Blende" as a camera aperture, but this must be some additional piece of equipment. Could it be the sort of big silver reflector that's often used on outdoor shoots?

A flat, rigid object used to shade the camera or part of the scene in the camera’s frame.

Blenden
sun shields; sun filters

Explanation:
(Reflector would be Spiegel od. Reflektor.)
(These Blenden are shields/filters that are held over the subject, rather than applied to the camera.)
