German to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Cinema, Film, TV, Drama / Film Location Contract
German term or phrase: Betreuer
"Für die zur Verfügungstellung eines ***Betreuers***, der das Projekt während des Drehs in Organisation wie Inhalt wird eine gesonderte Vereinbarung getroffen. Die Kosten für die Beschäftigung des ***Betreuers*** über den Zeitraum des Drehs werden vom Produzenten übernommen. Das Honorar muss üblich und angemessen sein."

From a film location contract. At this point I should perhaps reveal that the location is a safari park. Which makes me wonder whether the Betreuer could be a handler - someone for the animals. But this Betreuer seems to more of an organiser. However, the first sentence of the above paragraph seems to be missing one, if not two words (there is nothing relating to the first "die" or a verb to go with the relative pronoun "der"), which doesn't aid my understanding of exactly what the Betreuer does.

If anyone has a better idea of what a good translation would be here, please suggest an answer. TIA for your assistance.

location manager
Explanation:
Does this person report to the film producer / director? If so, then "location manager" might work.

If it's more like a staff position at the safari park, you might go with "contact person" or "project manager."

BTW, the person who handles the animals is called "wrangler," at least in the US; but I agreed that this is probably not what they're talking about here.

The peer graders have swung the points your way, Norbert. Fantutti's comment was particularly compelling. I will therefore use "location manager" here. Special thanks however to glatzhofer for helping me make better sense of the overall sentence, and thanks also to Christine for her idea.

disentangled sentence

Explanation:
1. the agreement refers to the first "die"
Für die Verfügungstellugn wird eine gesonderte Vereinbarung getoffen.
2. der is missing the logical verb "betreut"
so my suggestion would be:
A separate agreement shall be concluded concerning the services of an agent/attendant/organiser who shall be responsible for content and organisation of the project for the time of making/shooting the film. The costs of employment of this attendant for the time of shooting the film shall be borne by the producer."
