Context:

An dem Bausteinanschluss (Außenansicht der Matrix) muss die Ansteuerung des Ventils oder des Motors (nicht F) aufgelegt werden.

I'm not at all familiar with this usage of "auflegen" and none of the dictionary definitions (even in the Siemens dictionary) really seems to make a lot of sense. I'd be guessing if I just picked one :-(
