Good point. I was perhaps concentrating a bit too much on the prevalent current usage of such terminology. This definitely isn't about HMIs though, you're quite right.

I agree with you that "interaction areas" sounds a bit off. Are you sure that "interface" wouldn't work here? I can almost see USB ports as being included in "Interaktionsbereiche." Just a thought.
