It has since been pointed out that an Anpassungsdokument might refer to changes made in a development cycle to existing functions (rather than newly added functions). I can just see the logic of this, though I've not seen such an Anpassungsdokument in my time. If that is the sense, I'd suggest the word "change".

Anpassungsdokumentation is the documentation that describes what a user has to do with his or her existing system to get the most out of a newly installed software application or suite. It includes changes that may have to be made to the newly installed software package itself. It has no connection with maintenance (usually "Pflege" or "Wartung").
