German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Systems, Networks
German term or phrase: Außenwirksamkeit/Außenwirkung
From a document describing the introduction of a new, company-wide software configuration management system for revision-controlled release of software, hardware, and documentation. As far as I can see, the two terms have the same meaning.
----
----

It seems fairly obvious (famous last words!) that this means "doesn't affect anybody outside the company", but how do you say that in techno speak?

Cheers for the ideas,

Stephen

no external impact/effect // no effect on external relationships
Explanation:
... to set the ball rolling...

(I'm not at all convinced that you need to look for a decidedly technical term here.)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes, you're probably right, it doesn't need to be overly technical. I was looking for something that's immediately meaningful. I was stuck on 'effect' but I reckon 'Impact' could work.

Asker: @Ken: Thanks for the input, sounds like a good idea. Why would you expect an exaggerated response though?

agree Ken Cox: at the risk of going OTT or exciting an exaggerated response, you could even say 'no external relevance' or the equivalent with rewording
