German term or phrase: Vertreterregelung
Dear all, could anyone help me translate the word "Vertreterregelung" into English? I was thinking of "absence management", but I am not quite sure if it gets the idea across.

Thanks in advance.

absence management or substitution rules
Explanation:
As translations are context-dependent, it is not that easy to supply the appropriate translation unless you give me more detail. Absence management would be all right.
In workflows you often use subsitution rules to decide on how to continue, when the workflow owner is not able to attend to a job. As real-day processes are implemented in software implementations such as workflow management systems, I would very much advise using substitution rules. These clearly point out how to proceed, when the job owner ist absent. But as I mentioned above, it depends on the context!
l hope this helps you!
