German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Systems, Networks / Server virtualisation
German term or phrase: vorweg zu nehmen
The complete sentence is
Durch Virtualisierung erhoffte sich der IT-Dienstleister zügiger auf Kundenwünsche und -anforderungen reagieren zu können - und um eines vorweg zu nehmen: das ist ihm gelungen!

I am having difficulties with the second section:
und um eines vorweg zu nehmen: das ist ihm gelungen!

It is taken from a text about server virtualisation which is a case study talking about the experiences of a German hosting company who are using a well known American provider of virtual servers to virtualise oart of their data centre.

UK English please

Any help much appreciated, thanks

English translation:come straight to the point
Explanation:
vorwegnehmen means to anticipate

here I think a less literal translation is necessary ...

Using "visualisierung" the IT services provider hoped to achieve XYZ - and to come straight to the point/to cut a long story short - the company succeeded.

Depending on the audience, you may need a more formal register than "to come straight to the point"
