Tech/Engineering - Computers: Systems, Networks / CAN-bus network for web guiding system (textile, paper, lamination films etc)
German term or phrase: Abschlussst.
I translate a document written in English, but somehow the list of supplied equipment is in German. Authors of the document are Germans. And I don't know the German language. A major part of the list I have translated with a dictionary, but two entries remain unclear to me.

The whole phrase is in the list of major equipment and it reads

CAN-Abschlussst. 3 pol. f.CAN-Bus IP40

It goes after another list entry with a close article number:
CAN-Kabel m. 2 Stecker

My guess is that this is a terminating device, but I am not sure. Regrettably, I am not an expert in network communications.

Sorry, my fault: This most likely stands for "Abschlussstecker"

And the whole line: CAN three-pole termination connector for CAN bus, IP40 (the latter being the protection class)

termination plug/connector

Explanation:
This is an abbreviation for "Abschlussstecker". In your case: "CAN termination plug" oder "CAN termination connector".

Notes to answerer
Asker: Great thanks, Lutz! I just was in doubt because of the neighbouring "2 Stecker". I thought: "If the cable is already equipped with connectors on both ends, why one more?" Now I suppose that this connector is for CAN cable entering the CAN bus, which is indicated by "f.CAN-bus".

Asker: Thanks for extended explanation. Now I see that this connector is installed on the CAN bus, and the cable is plugged with one "Stecker" into the device (controller, sensor etc.) and with the other "Stecker" into this termination connector.
