I would interpret "Fernabnahme" as some kind of "remote acceptance/approval", which could be a one-time action, or at least would not be a repetitive action. It might refer to a manual action, like. a manual remote reset of the system after an incident rather than an automatic reset. But of course, this is just me speculating. The word choice seems odd in this context, and I would check back with the client, if the context does not give you any further clues.

Now I see the complete sentence it gives a complete different picture to meaning of " Fernabnahme". This is then "remote control" in English.
In future please give us all complete information as this is important so you get a correct translation.
