German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Computers (general) / description
German term or phrase:Ausgangsmultiplexer 2:1 für Monitorumschaltung
What?????
Appears in a decsription of a product which I assum eis a computer by a company called Visicom Gmbh. At the top of the page it says " Seite 4 zum Angebot A 910122/SO01".
Why is the 2:1 after the " for" and not before? In the original German it is " Ausgangsmultiplexer 2:1 fuer ( for ) Monitorumschaltung. Would that not be : Output multiplexer 2:1 for monitor switchover" in English then ?
I don't know enough German to reply in German - how your proposition of muxing two outputs to one monitor reconciles with "Monitorumschaltung" ? I would rather call it "Ausgangsumschaltung". In you proposition, the information displayed on the monitor is "umschalt-ed" - not the physical monitor itself. In any case it is a philosophical question - sometimes the source text itself is badly written.
Oops - my error - I corrected it. BTW should be IMHO 1:2 (one output, two monitors) because they say Monitorumschaltung - unless I don't understand what they mean.
I hope I am as smart as you one day. I can read the words but I do not know what they mean. The spelling mistake must be in the ST then because in front of me it says " pegei" black on white. There is definately a dot above the vertical line, definately an "i".
Do you have any source where I can verify the term? Not because I do not believe you but because I need a source.
IMHO 24 V is the discrete In and Out interfaces voltage level (Pegel) - one of the standard I/O voltage levels defined in IEC 61131-2 (The PLC hardware standard). The modern monitor multiplexing method (for a PC system) is the KVM mux (KVM = Keyboard, Video, Mouse) with which you can operate (alternately) two computers with one "console".
