Two different contexts, two different meanings?

1. (Context is Ausheben von Gruben). Die Einmessung erfolgt durch die Bauleitung oder der Auftragnehmer, der die Messprotokolle der Bauleitung zu uebergeben hat.
Here einmessen = survey, initial measurement (of cable, piping position prior to excavation)?

2. Erdverlegten Anlagenteile wie Rohreitungen und Kabel muessen vor dem Verfuellen eingemessen werden.
Here einmessen = level? Or more measuring of position?
