Aufdoppelung (Dachdecker/roofing usage) comnments for info Explanation: This seems to be a generic term in the building industry (see e.g. Aufdoppelung Unter einer Aufdoppelung bzw. Aufsattelung versteht man das Aufnageln, Aufschrauben oder Aufkleben eines Holzteiles auf einen Balken o.ä., um eine zu geringe Aufbauhöhe auszugleichen. Eine Aufdoppelung kann auch beispielsweise bei Dachsparren notwendig sein, um die Tragfähigkeit zu erhöhen. http://www.baumarkt.de/lexikon/Aufdoppelung.htm ) and other sites where it refers to applying an additional layer of wood, concrete, etc. to raise, strengthen or restore a surface. In the specific instance of the drawing you cite, it appears to me that the Aufdoppeling is the additional layer of something placed on top of the Rhombusstein (top roof tile) to raise the top face of the ventilation grid to a level flush with the top face of the the ridge board, and possibly to provide a cushion between the ventilation grid and the Rhombusstein. |
