Eigenerklärung
What is Self-Certification?
A statement written and signed by the person concerned regarding his/her personal status and data to be used in relations with the public administration and agencies and providers of public services.

Using a self-certification in relations with a private person is up to one's own discretion. These statements can be replaced by normal and notary certificates.
Indeed, an important simplification of public administrative procedures was achieved with the effective enforcement of Presidential Decree of 28 dicembre 2000 no. 445, making them much more efficient and transparent.

Thanks for the input. I chose to go with "signed statement issued by the bidder" because it was clear then who needed to provide what. After researching "self-certification", I agree that it is a possible translation; however, I just wanted to make sure that they knew what exactly they had to provide.

Asker: Thanks so much for the eic.ie link. That is a great resource! I am not sure that I like "self-certification"; it makes it sound like they are bestowing "certification" upon themselves. Maybe I should just go with "written and signed statement issued by "the bidder" .... what do you think?
