gitternetzebene grating level / metal grid level Explanation: Just a hunch. If this is a car assembly plant, then the "Gitternetzebene" would could be a level within the facility consisting of a grating or a metal grid. If something were dropped or spilled onto the grating, it would pass right through. This would be a safety factor to avoid spills or accidents connected with slippery or hazardous floor surfaces. They have a similar set-up here at the local sheep farms. In the spring, the ewes are kept in pens with a metal grid. All of the dung and urine is collected underneath at a lower level and used for fertilizer. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2007-11-09 14:57:43 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, but given the dimensions of your "Gitternetzebene" (something I admittedly overlooked when I answered the question), I don't see how my answer could fit the context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2007-11-09 17:08:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- On second thought, the "Gitternetzebene" appears to be built/suspended at a HEIGHT of 3,650 to 3,950 mm (it says "bis" in German - not "mal"). So it looks like it's a type of level/platform/catwalk (as Darin suggested) after all. |
