I think it\'s a beam although it could be a truss if it\'s used in roof construction (US construction techniques).

Truss- An engineered and manufactured roof support member with \"zig-zag\" framing members. Does the same job as a rafter but is designed to have a longer span than a rafter.

Now I see the problem. Brettschichttraeger and Leimbinder are both translated as glulam beam. And I think they\'re just using both terms synonymously.
