Explanation: Bei originalen Hippen (in der suessen Version) wird der Teig aufs Blech gestrichen und nach dem Backen und Abkuehlen ist das dann so eine Art knusprige Waffel. Es gibt auch eine Version wo die Hippen vor dem Abkuehlen eingerollt werden, das wird dann oft Hohlhippen genannt.
In der Version mit dem Speck kann ich mir nur vorstellen dass der erkaltete knusprige Speck (daher Krokant i guess...) dann halt mit Feinbitterkuvertüre ueberzogen wird und daher wuerde ich die Uebersetzung "crisp bacon wafer" vorschlagen.
