German term or phrase:Aufgusstopf
(I hope I got the right category, I thought about cooking but that wasn't quite right ;-))
This term appears in a brochure on saunas. This bit is describing the various accessories available, on of which is an "Aufgusstopf". Actually, it's referred to as an "Aroma- und Aufgusstopf".
I know this from being in saunas where the cry of "Aufguss" can be heard before someone chucks more water in the oven.
Is there a word for this in English? I thought of "drip pot" - a regular dripping of water from the pot on to the hot coals to keep the humidity topped up??
shows the offending item - I'm wondering whether this would be called a bucket? I think it's suspended over hot coals and drips away.
I just checked your link but further down the page and found the answer - perfect :-) (see below buckets) - it's a "Sauna humidifier and aromatic drip dispenser" so it looks as if the term Aroma-/Aufgusstopf needs to be considered as a whole.
Thanks very much! kenbe: 5:19pm Mar 8, 2006: PS - you agree? Lucia [Lulu] Filova: 7:10pm Mar 8, 2006: Yes, I actually found lots of sites offering buckets and pails; the one I provided has the humidifier and I wanted to use that as my answer. But then I looked at some Aufgusstopf pictures and was confused. Figured if I used it as reference, you'd find it. -
Explanation: I thought it was some complicated dripping system, but then I found some pictures that go with Aufgusstopf and I believe this is what you're looking for.
