German term or phrase: Satz: Um jeden Besitzstand wird erbittert gekämpft
Der Autor vertritt die These, dass im Zuge größerer gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungen der Industriearbeiter langsam von der Bildfläche verschwinden wird, und mit ihm auch die Arbeiterparteien und Gewerkschaften. Dann kommt folgender Satz:

Die Entwicklung wird zwar nicht aufzuhalten sein, aber ebenso wenig wird zu verhindern sein, dass *um jeden Besitzstand erbittert gekämpft wird*.

"Besitzstände" wird ja häufig als "vested rights" wiedergegeben. Aber kann man sagen: "each and every" oder "every single vested right"? Und wird es "fiercely defended"?
