German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Economics | | German term or phrase: System der komunizierenden Röhren | Der Löweanteil des deutschen Kapitalexports fließt, wenig spektakulär, über das System der komunizierenden Röhren der Minanzkapitalmärkte.
- could this just be a metaphor? Could I just say "The majority of German capital exports flow through capital markets"? Or is there an equivalent metaphor in English? I found an experiment about "communicating vessels" but wasn't sure this would fit. |

I think "channels" feels more natural in English and is certainly seen in this sort of context in the financial columns of UK newspapers. |
