German term or phrase: rechnerisch aufblähen

Das ist übertrieben, mögenmanche denken. Die deutsche Exportweltmeisterschaft, sei es auch nur eine Vizeweltmeisterschaft, passt nicht zu diesem düsteren
Bild! Sie scheint zu beweisen, dass Deutschland wettbewerbsfähig ist und nur unter internen Nachfrageproblemen leidet, die durch keynesianische
Politikmaßnahmen gelindert werden können.
Leider ist dieser Schluss aus zwei Gründen unzulässig. Erstens, weil die Entwicklung zur Basar-Ökonomie das Exportvolumen rechnerisch aufbläht, und zweitens, weil die Zunahme der Wertschöpfung im Export kein Indikator
für volkswirtschaftliche Handelsgewinne ist.

Could I say "the calculation of export volumes has been inflated" or simply "export volumes have been inflated"?

The "rechnerisch" is confusing matters but I'm guessing it's there for a reason - I just wasn't sure if the first option is what is meant?
