Der bloße Drittfondsvertrieb also die Auswahl von Top-Produkten aus einer breiten Anbietergruppe ist für die Banken jedoch mit einem hohen Aufwand bei der Fondsauswahl und beim Research verbunden. Zudem wären die Bankberater angesichts tausender von Investmentfonds schlicht ebenso überfordert wie die Endkunden selbst. Insgesamt ist die uneingeschränkte offene Architektur im Vergleich zum Modell der strategischen Allianzen wesentlich komplexer und hat einen vergleichsweise geringen Nutzen für Bank und Kunden.

Not sure what 'bloße' in this context is trying to say? Does this mean that if banks only concentrate on selling third-party funds, they will run up high costs in terms of fund selection and research, or does this mean that they shouldn't just home in an all funds and be a bit more selective?
