German term or phrase: Diplom Betriebswirt (FH)
Hallo. University of Applied Sciences.

BA (Hons) Business Administration
Explanation:
I studied for 4 years in 2 countries and got 2 degrees - A Diplom Betriebswirt (FH) and a BA Hons in European Business Administration. These days they have changed the English university that they work with and now call it Bachelor of Science in International Management. Anyway it is certainly not a Masters.

You get a bachelors of (arts, science or anything else) in the UK after 3-4 years of study. It is the initial Abschluß when finishing any kind of university first degree. You can not get a Masters until you have a Bachelor's and it usually requires 1-2 years study and a comprehensive thesis: http://www.aston.ac.uk/prospective-students/pg/pros/lss/05te...

BA = Bachelor of Arts not Berufsakadamie. In general you get a bachelor of arts or science. MBA = Master ofBusiness Administration

Notes to answerer
Asker: Gillian, thank you. But so far I see you have this second part because you study partly at another college. So this B.B.A. honoured is not neccessarily a translation for Diplom Betriebswirt (FH)

Asker: Dear Gillian. thank you for the note. That clarifies it.

agree  yyyzzz: We’ve seen this situation on proz.com before. How to put this politely? Our German colleagues tend to downplay UK qualifications, particularly when seeking equivalents for their own.
