German term or phrase: Verbundstudiengang
Have found plenty of definitions for this. In NRW this is a course of studies allowing people in the workforce or apprenticeships to study part-time, by distance learning and weekend seminars etc. to achieve a degree. This kind of study used to be called a "sandwich course in the UK, but I believe that involved blocks of study at the university/college combined with work experience, so not quite the equivalent. Are there similar courses in US or UK and what would they be called?
