German term or phrase: supervisionieren

"Supervisionieren" seems to have become a buzz word in German and would normally mean supervise or monitor but in the following context that does not work, in which case I suspect that the writer has used the word wrongly or does "supervisionieren" have a further meaning, something like analyse? Help appreciated-I think this is for the pros although some of you might think non-pro?
Monitor seems the obvious choice but does not make sense because you cannot monitor after the event, (and the writer is describing what happens after the coaching carried out by trainees has been observed) only during an event or process.

"Die selbständig durchgeführten Coaching-Sitzungen werden in den Ausbildungsblöcken **supervisioniert**, besprochen, analysiert und reflektiert"

I can imagine they mean something like "active guidance", with the coach accompanying the future coachers through the sessions, thus doing more than just supervising.
(I sincerely hope you're wrong about this being a new buzz word - to a German, it sounds terrible!!)

It is thus a mixture of line management, appraisal, professional development, case work analysis and also has aspects of counselling and even psychoanalysis (if done properly).
