German term or phrase: Spannung und Entspannung
This concerns an edutainment centre which is dealing with the topic of climate change. There is a constant change in scenery and activities to demonstrate the gap betweenn what was, what is and what could be.

The best I can come up with is (high) excitemet and (deep) relaxation but am not happy with this.

Tension and relief

Explanation:
Perhaps it means that there are moments of high emotion where viewers are given cause to worry about the future, followed by less emotive explanations about changes they can make to avoid catastrophe.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes, I like this. As relaxation doesn't really fit in with the activities on offer.

change of pace

Explanation:
In classroom teaching we would use "frequent change of pace" to describe this. But I think I like Johanna's answer better actually.

suspense and relief

Explanation:
This won't earn me any points, but that doesn't matter. I can only think of a new possibility for "Spannung", "Entspannung" has already been covered by the other suggestions

Fascination and fun

Explanation:
Edutainment is the key! In my opinion, these two German nouns are meant to signal edutainment's inherent mix of educational and entertaining content. Spannung refers to very interesting, serious, thought-provoking material; Entspannung to rather playful approaches to these issues
