German term or phrase: Schaltung
Does "Schaltung" usually correspond to "circuit" in electronic devices like UV lamp ballasts?

I would translate the following terms as follows:

Leistungsstufenschaltung = power level circuit
Thyristorstellerschaltung = thyristor controller circuit

Also refer to http://www.proz.com/kudoz/569957

As indicated above, the "Schaltungen" belong to the "Vorschaltgerät" (ballast) of the UV lamp.
Unfortunately, no more context available.

Thanks a million for your confirmation/correction!

circuit(ry)
Explanation:
Indeed, 'Schaltung' usually translates as 'circuit' or 'circuitry' (a more abstract form of 'circuit') in an electronics context.

However, in the compound words of your example, 'circuit' may be redundant in English.

'Leistungsstufeschaltung' would be literally 'power stage circuit' (or circuitry). If the subject of the text in your context is not specifically the circuitry of the power stage (e.g. a description of the design or features), or even if it is but the register is relatively informal, you can omit 'circuit(ry)'.

'Thyristor controller' sounds reasonable as a translation of 'Thyristorstellerschaltung', but I would prefer to see the context. If it is the circuit that controls the power stage, it would be called a driver stage or circuit.

Make that 'it could be called a driver stage or circuit' in the last sentence.

'Stufe' with reference to a functional part of an electronic circuit (i.e. not a control setting) usually translates as 'stage'.
