Note, I agree with Bernd that whatever term you choose can stand alone; however, if modifying term further, use 'system' if lighting is integrated part of lighting control system and not stand alone equipment.

Thank you Michael and Bernd. 'Variable lighting' indeed seems to be the preferred term on UK, Australian and New Zealand sites, but I'm translating into US English and found 'colored lighting' to be more common on US sites. I also think the Osram translations are pretty decent.

Googling for conference room lighting systems on UK sites gives a lot of different terms most of which avoid the term colour. They mainly use mood, variable, special, state-of-the-art and flexible lighting (mostly without system or equipment).
