My problem here is with the synonymous nature of 'Regelung' and 'Steuerung' in this context, both of them translating as 'control', cf.

and http://www.automation.siemens.com/sixcms/upload/news/motionw... for example. Of course, "regulation and control platform" is an option, but it doesn't really Google well.

regelung actually should require feedback to then change parameters as required and can therefore be translated with regulation leaving steuerung as control

of course, it is a bit "doppelt-gemoppelt" and you will probably find more things like dual function control platform - covering both sorts of control

In general use, a distinction between Regelung and Steuerung is not made in English; it's both control - unless you get into the details (context!), which is where feedback comes in (See Bernd's comment.
"Regulation" is a typical "Germanismus" / false friend both in this context and in contracts (die Regelungen...)
