I reiterate that IMO the translation should reflect the telegraph style used in the German original, i.e. no complete sentences. The clause beginning with 'Handrückenschutz' is independent of the previous clause; you have combined them in your suggestion. Clauses should be separated by ';' You have used some complete sentences ending with a '.' and some 'telegraph style' clauses, which are also (incorrectly) ended with '.' - If you insist on using complete sentences, you should at least be consistant.

ist normalerweise ein (deutscher) Zusatz, angezeigt mit Buchstabe A, in der Schutzartenklassifizierung. Ist allerdings in der englischen Version von protection class 1X schon enthalten:
1 Protection from a large part of the body such as a hand (but no protection from deliberate access); from solid objects greater than 50mm in diameter.
Heißt: Man kann wohl die Finger, aber nicht die ganze Hand hineinstecken, also bis zum Handrücken.
Fazit: im Englischen weglassen, weil schon explizit vorhanden.
Der "Originaltext" scheint eine katastrophale/maschinelle Übersetzung zu sein - Sachverstand = Null.
Aber, der Kunde hat ja Recht ;-)

IMHO your style is too 'sophisticated'. The German uses telegraph style - no complete sentences. You need to leave out all articles, aux. verbs and the possessive 'one's' is also superfluous here. Your sentence has literary merit and would fit well in a book, but technicians want things as short and precise as possible.
