Vorgrube
In der Vorgrube, deren Volumen nicht grösser als die tägliche Beschickungsmenge der Biogasanlage sein soll, wird das Substrat zur Beschickung des Fermenters homogenisiert, zerkleinert, in der Trockensubstanz eingestellt und vorgelagert.
Eine runde Vorgrube mit 3 - 5 m Durchmesser ist in Bezug auf Rührwirkung, Energiebedarf und Vermeidung von zu starker Auskühlung ideal. Der Zerkleinerungs-, Rühr- und Mischtechnik muss grosse Beachtung geschenkt werden, dazu sind diverse Systeme, wie Pumpen, Mixer, Mixerpumpen etc. auf dem Markt. Varianten zu einer Vorgrube können Direkteintragsysteme wie Einwurf-, Einspülschächte, Einzugschnecken mit siphoniertem Austrag sein. Einwurföffnungen und Einzugeinrichtungen stellen grosse Anforderungen an den Unfallschutz."

neutral  casper: a. It's "in der Trockensubstanz", that is, the dative case, so it means 'in', not 'into'. b. What does "formulated into the dry matter" mean anyway?
