German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering: Industrial
German term or phrase: zwangsfrei laufen
This is about a turbo-generator set that had the wrong double tooth coupling installed and therefore vibrated excessively. The coupling was replaced and then:

Nach 6 Monaten zeigte sich dann, dass mit der neuen Bogenzahnkupplung die Störschwingungen beseitigt waren und der Antrieb zwangsfrei laufen konnte.

English translation:rotates smoothly
Explanation:
In principle they are saying that the vibrating problem has been resolved and that the generator is running without vibrations, hence my preferred translation: rotates smoothly. You could also say: runs freely or runs free of friction.
