this is too general term, what is meant here?

load area and loading area are possible translations according to the dictionaries I mentioned - in 30 years of translation I have seen both and both are proper English.

I do have the feeling that you have problems with the meaning of 'area' that is not limited to 'part of a building or site' triangles or rectangular shapes have an area as well.

neutral  philgoddard: I don't know what UTC, Ernst, Kucera is, but "area" implies part of a building or site. We're talking about vehicles, so you're wrong to disagree with Ramey.

Reference: cargo vs. shipment

Reference information:
A "cargo" is transported by SHIP, and a "shipment" is transported by TRUCK (and that's not a joke).

Just like a truck-free road is called a "parkway" and the area in front of your garage is the "driveway".

Enough to "drive" any Denglish purist crazy.
