English translation:line (temperature detector)
Explanation:
It seems that linienförmig refers to the IR emitter/receiver arrangement. Compare EN 54-12 in German and English versions:

This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for line smoke detectors utilising the attenuation and/or changes in attenuation of an optical beam, for use in fire detection systems installed in buildings. This European Standard does not cover: - Line smoke detectors designed to operate with separations between opposed components of less than 1 m; - Line smoke detectors whose optical path length is defined or adjusted by an integral mechanical connection... Explanation:
The temperature detector is not "linear," iot rather has a "linear response."

-> There is nothing about the standard in the question. "formig" is shaped not aligned. Thjereb is nothing in the question about the detector being optical. It;'s most likely an RTD.

disagree  Klaus Herrmann: This is definitely wrong. The detector is "linienförmig", not the detector output. Linienförmig seems to describe the alignment of (optical) source and detector. //From the quoted EN standard and some research on the web. Not shaped but arranged in a line

-> Liienformig detector cannot exist - a detector caannot be "shaped as a line". And there isn't anything about alignment in the question. Where is this coming from?
