Aus einer Brandschutzordnung für eine Schule:

•Mit Ausnahme der Physik-, Chemie- und Laborräume ist der Umgang mit Feuer und offenem Licht untersagt.

•Rauchen ist im gesamten Haus verboten!

•Schweiß-, Schneid- und Lötarbeiten nur bei entsprechenden Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und mit Zustimmung der Leitung zulässig. (Siehe Merkblatt). Solche Arbeiten sind nach Möglichkeit in der unterrichtsfreien Zeit durchzuführen. Feuerlöscher bereitstellen! ***Brandwache stellen!***

The term "Fire Watch" is used to describe a dedicated person or persons whose sole responsibility is to look for fires within an established area.

• A fire watch is required when Hot Work is being performed. Details are specified on the Campus Hot Work Permit Form.

neutral  Jim Tucker: ok, but if you're putting it on a sign at a school, I'd make it sound official, like this: "Appoint Fire Watch!" or "Designate a Fire Watch" ("guard" is fine too, though "watch" is explicit that their job continues after the fire is out, to secure it)
