Die Feuerleichtsteine werden im Werk nach dem Schlickergießverfahren hergestellt. Zur Porosierung wird dem *Versatz* Holzmehl zugesetzt. Eine weitere Porosierung wird durch Schäumen des Schlickers (Zusatz spezieller Schaumbildner während der Schlickerherstellung) erreicht.
