This is in a tender being submitted for a CHP power plant. It seems to me as if this may be the "equivalent sound absorption area level", but I can't find any direct references to back this hunch up.

Obwohl der Emissions-Schalldruckpegel als ein im Freifeld nach Abb. 1.1 direkt mit dem Schallpegelmesser bestimmbarer Wert wesentlich einfacher vermittelbar ist als der Schallleistungspegel, ist seine Bestimmung beim Betrieb der Maschine in einem Raum durch die erforderliche Bereinigung des gemessenen Schalldruckpegels vom Raumeinfluss eher schwieriger zu verstehen. Der vom Raum verursachte Pegelzuschlag, der beim Abzug von dem im Raum gemessenen Schalldruckpegel als Umgebungskorrektur K3 bezeichnet wird, hängt nach (1.3) in ähnlicher Weise wie die Korrektur des mittleren Messflächenpegels nach (1.2) von der Absorptionsfläche des Raumes ab – allerdings zusätzlich vom scheinbaren Richtwirkungsindex D*I,op.
