German term or phrase: Konstruktionsmitteilung
Is there a standard term for "mitteilung?"

Die Konstruktionsmitteilung dient zur Dokumentation der konstruktiven Änderungen, ...

Notification of change, Konstruktion = design
Explanation:
Really the context is not sufficient to come up with a good solution. As one colleague already stated it is really imperative to know who and when. Konstruktion in my opinion refers to design and not construction, but again that depends on the phase. I would tend to agree with Alexander in saying that it would be sufficient to say something along the lines of \"notification of change\", ie. ... is used to document changes in design or engineering.\" Again the phase of work would decide if construction would be better than design or engineering. I used \"Notification of change\", considering this is what one of my US-based clients uses.
Good luck!

I'm awarding the points to Leipzig based on the fact that she used "design," which is the correct translation of Konstruktion in most cases. I may or may not use "change" in the heading, since it is explained in the text. I may just use "design notice/note/memo/..."

building instructions

Explanation:
It is often used to refer to communication but I don't think that's the correct translation in this case

disagree  Alexander Schleber (X): Those would be the assermbly instructions, not the changes!

memo

Explanation:
It's really a question who issues the "Konstruktionsmitteilung" to whom. If it is company internal, I'd go for "construction memo(randum)", if it is a rather official paper between two bodies, I'd go for something as eloquent as "construction disclosure". Inbetween you have "note", "notice", "notification", "message", it really is a matter where they are appropriate.

building information

Explanation:
Mitteilung is best translated as information if you need a general term.
The context is : The building information serves as documentation for changes to be made in the construction process.

modification notice / construction notice

Explanation:
A literal translatioon (following Andy Lemminger) would be "construction notice", not just notice.

But I like "modification notice" better, because it refers to adaptations being made to the original, the construction part surely becoming clear in the notice itself.

construction notes

Explanation:
I've just been shown some architectural drawings from the UK, which have text written on the right hand side under the heading notes. This is exactly what we are talking about. At the bottom is a section showing the revision number for the drawing. The notes describe construction details such as the materials used for the walls and floors, the type of drainage etc.

Clearly when the drawing is revised, this entails amendments or additions to the original instructions.
