Bus/Financial - Environment & Ecology

I can just imagine how Greenlandic sheep farmers would respond to a methane gas tax! I read an article the other day about methane gas released by farm animals (primarily cattle). It appears to be a growing environmental problem. Maybe that's why the ice is melting...

agree  Ken Cox: a stunning example of neoliberal economic thinking (and the government wins either way: either the supply decreases and they look like heroes, or the consumers accept the additional cost and the government cashes in)

-> Viewed from that perspective, it's another (failed!) (stinking!) bogus environmental tax proposal. But I wouldn't be surprised if the problem of on-the-hoof methane production increasingly makes headlines in the near future. Moo!!

agree  Rebecca Garber: Ah, the cow fart tax. Belching is also a problem.//It's the cud chewing. Don't get me started, we've got a local free-range deer problem. We could add methane production to the erosion problems...

-> Extra belching fees? That's a new twist. But surely happy go lucky free-range organic cows don't belch nearly as much as antiobiotic & hormone infused stall-fed cows? ;-) / Here the main problem is with sheep devastating the fragile arctic flora.
