In my opinion, Andrew's foreclosure suggestion would only work in the very narrow context of foreclosure of a mortgage or similar against an asset secured thereby. If we are talking about "Verfall" on the basis of a criminal act or something other than a specific case of a foreclosure of a mortgage, then it is likely that forfeiture is the correct term of art.
