German term or phrase: Gutscheinheft
"Wir berechnen aufgrund unserer allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen nachstehende Waren und Dienstleistungen als Gutscheinheft. Bei einem Gutscheinheft handelt es sich um eine Vorauszahlung."

These couple of sentences comprise my entire job! So it's not a lot to go on. I'm confused by the use of Gutscheinheft, which as far as I can ascertain, is a coupon book. But I thought coupon books were used for discounts, not making advance payments. So I think Gutscheinheft might mean something else, but can't possibly think what. TIA for your help.

Explanation:
I would ask the customer and if I can't, I translate it as it is and maybe add a note.
Gutscheinheft has a very specific meaning and only one meaning. Any other interpretation that the writer might have put on it, is his problem. Nobody can argue with a translation like 'coupon / voucher book / booklet'.

However, I have the feeling that here the problem lies in the first sentence. I think, the customer has to buy a coupon booklet and can then use the coupons, if he need services or goods.

Thanks Joern and all the peer graders. Calling it a PREPAID coupon book made good sense. Thanks again - appreciate everyone's help.

agree  milinad: you can also say prepaid coupon books. These are bought in advance and at the time of purchase coupons with the face value of the cost of the goods are handed over to the store
