Again Hamblock/Wessel; 'Aufbewahrungspflicht' is given as the 'obligation to keep/preserve business record, ~books and records, filing requirement'.
I think you are right that it is a fine line, one says you have to keep them despite everything going into the computer; the other requires that they are preserved for a legally stipulated length of time and not thrown away after they have served the immediate purpose.
