Bus/Financial - Finance (general)
German term or phrase: Postcheck: Konto
This appears at the top of a letter from a Swiss businessman to an English supplier. The address/phone/fax details are given, followed by Schweiz Bankgesellschaft 5620 Bremgarten, Konto Nr. xx, then Postcheck: Konto xx xx.

It is a letter from 1996 and contains a number of typos.

Would you translate Postcheck: Konto in this context? If so, would it be Checking Account ?

Post Office Giro Account
Explanation:
and not necessarily a British concept, Anne-Marie, although it might well be. I know that in Germany, it's been around for something like 150 years; don't know about Switzerland, though.
