German term or phrase: Abfindungen
hello,

Still on my specification for catering services, the word "Abfindungen" comes up under Wages/salaries. I've found it both as "gratuities" (but would that be classed under wages/salaries?) and lump-sum compensation payments such as terminal bonuses/redundancy payments. With no further context to go on, I'm not sure how to translate this here.

Many thanks for your help.

compensation(s)

Explanation:
I'd probably go with "compensations" here, as it's a rather general term and you would find it in the context of wages/salaries. I would say that "gratuities" is more in the sense of "Sonderverguetungen/ Praemien".

If you know it's in the context of redundancies, you could use redundancy payments.
