German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Social welfare entitlement
German term or phrase: berechnetes Band
[Kindergeld]
Das Kind kann nur dann als Plegekind beruecksichtigt werden, wenn Sie es in Ihren Haushalf aufgenommen haben und mit ihm durch ein familienaehnliches, auf laengere Dauer berechnetes Band verbunden sind.

English translation:commitment
Explanation:
The idea is that the foster family has to have a long-term commitment to the foster child. I would leave out the berechnetes. Confidence level 3 because I am not sure whether this is a legal obligation or not; if it is, then something stronger would be needed, like "obligation." See the link on the law about this, which I don't have time to read.

agree  Steffen Walter: "long-term commitment" renders it well. Another German variation would be "auf längere Dauer angelegt".
