German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Asset Management
German term or phrase: Konstrukt
Hi there,

This is a text about asset management. It lists several ways of doing just that, including consolidating assets into trusts, insurance solutions etc. It calls the aforementioned options (and others) "Konstukte". I understand the gist, and I can find several examples of this term used in context on the Web, however a succinct term in English is not coming to me. I think I've been looking at it too long.

Here are the two uses of Konstrukt in the text:

"Das Vermögen wird in ein selbständiges Konstrukt zusammengeführt, das entweder in Form einer/s ... geschehen kann."

and

"Die folgenden Konstrukte werden hier beschrieben:" The text then lists how and where one can 'park' his/her money.

Would 'portfolio' be appropriate?
Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Best wishes,

Jonathan

portfolio

Explanation:
I would go along with portfolio. There are many examples of this on the Web along the lines of assets are combined/pooled into / to form a single (investment) portfolio.
Alternatives from a sales point of view might be package or product, but from the information you give these do not seem appropriate.

neutral  Steffen Walter: Not sure. I think the "Konstrukt" refers not to the portfolio of assets as such but to the legal form/entity/arrangement ("special-purpose entity/vehicle") considered for its management and admnistration.
