German term or phrase: Standortprinzip
Bei der Übersetzung ins Englische hänge ich an folgendem Begriff: Standortprinzip - wurde im Rahmen der Diskussion um die Finanztransaktionssteuer von der EU-Kommission vorgeschlagen, um die Abwanderung von Finanztransaktionen an steuerfreie Handelsplätze zu verhindern.

Ich wäre für ein paar Vorschläge sehr dankbar.

agree  Hope Farmer: "Location principle" is better in this context. The ongoing EU discussion pertains to the origin principle versus the destination principle of taxation. From the context provided "Standort" is used in regard to origination of the financial transation.

neutral  dkfmmuc: Sorry for the neutral comment. But I think the place of incorporation or jurisdiction is decisive and not the place (e.g. country of the stock exchange) where the transaction ahs been setztled.
